Found a bad route?

Tap the red flag icon at the top-right of the map while looking at the bad route. It captures the map and lets you add a comment. We use these to improve routing.

Common questions

Why did the route take this road instead of another?

TwoTired prefers scenic roads over fast ones by default. If you want the fastest path, say "fastest" in your prompt — or set the curviness to "direct". If you want a specific road, mention it: "via 9W" or "take NY-97".

The app can't find me.

Make sure location permission is set to "While Using" or "Always" in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → TwoTired. If it's set to "Never" or "Ask Next Time", the app can't plan a route from your position.

The voice button doesn't work.

On iOS, speech recognition is handled by Apple on-device. If you haven't used voice input before, iOS may prompt for permission — accept it. If permission was previously denied, re-enable in iOS Settings → Privacy → Speech Recognition.

I'm not getting the sign-in code email.

The code is sent from support@twotired.net. Check your spam folder. If it isn't there after 2 minutes, request a new code from the app. Codes expire after 1 hour.

Why does the route avoid Manhattan?

Motorcycle routes from outside Manhattan to outside Manhattan should rarely transit through the borough — Manhattan grid traffic, lane-splitting prohibitions, and tolls make it slower in practice than the bridges riders actually use. If you want to ride through Manhattan, name a Manhattan destination directly.

How do I share a route with a friend?

Generate the route, open the route options (three dots / share icon), pick the friend from your riding mates. They'll see the route appear in their app's Recent Rides marked as shared.

How do I add a riding mate?

Open the menu, tap "Add friend", and either share your code with them or enter theirs. Once both sides have accepted, you can share live positions and routes.

How do I delete my account?

Open the menu and tap "Delete account". The button is at the bottom of the menu. Confirmation requires typing DELETE. Account and all associated data are removed within 24 hours.

What areas does TwoTired cover?

Currently the US Northeast: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington DC. We expand based on rider demand — email us if your region isn't covered yet.

What's coming next?

The roadmap is driven by what riders ask for. Top requests right now: expanded geographic coverage, better support for group rides, integrated weather, and offline-capable routes. If something would change how you'd use the app, please tell us.
